Proposed kratom bill stalls in Louisiana

Kratom bill stalls in LouisianaLouisiana House Bill 19, proposed by Representative Kevin Pearson, has stalled in the Louisiana Legislative Session. The 2014 Regular Session adjourned on June 2nd, 2014 at 6:00pm with no additional movement in passing House Bill 19.

The proposed bill didn’t seem to have much traction out of the gates. We think this is partly due to the fact that back in the 2012 Regular Session, Louisiana made kratom legal for purchase and possession for anyone ages 18 years or older. If HB 19 had passed, it wouldv’e been a complete about-face from the stance the legislators took 2 years ago to control the kratom plant.
